TITLE: Competing impact of tumor biology and tumor burden/extent of resection on outcome after hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastases
INTRODUCTION
A contemporary, multi-center cohort study would be an optimal population to study how tumor biology, characteristics, and response to chemotherapy can guide surgical strategies in patients with CRLM.
OBJECTIVES
To identify independent risk factors associated with prognosis regardless of the extent of tumor burden or liver surgery.
To investigate the competing weight of tumor biology/characteristics and tumor load/extent of hepatectomy on postresectional outcome.
STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective observational
PARTICIPANTS: International multi-center
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Inclusion criteria
Adult patients undergoing first liver resection for CRLM
Exclusion criteria
Incomplete/missing primary study variables
Liver resections other than primary (repeat resections)
